This seminar is one of many ways Kentucky aviators are working together to produce safe, responsible ultralight pilots.

Frank Beagle -- The Voice of Oshkosh!

Jim Sweeney -- USUA, SweeneyCorp

Jim Stephenson -- ASC

Alistair Wilsion - Astra Trikes, Sport Flight International

Most out of town guests stay at the Springs Inn or the Campbell House Inn:

This Seminar is free and open to the public but donations are accepted to cover the travel and hotel expenses of the speakers. Another way to support the seminar is by purchasing a lunch ticket when you register. We appreciate your support, it allows us to host this very important event.

The generous support of our sponsors comes in the form of cash and merchandise donations. We raffle off all the great gear they donate, so come prepared to buy plenty of raffle tickets. (You get more tickets when you buy them $10 at a time!)

During the seminar weekend we will have three other special events:

Open to renewing and potential BFI's. This course satisfies the refresher training requirements of ASC, EAA, and USUA. Presented by Jim Sweeney, representing SweeneyCorp and USUA. The seminar starts at 8:30 am and is held at Central Equipment at 791 Red Mile Road, between Harrodsburg Road and Versailles Road. The cost is $50 and advance registration is required. Payment will be made on-site.

*** SPECIAL SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET ***

Building on the great feedback we've gotten from the past dinners, we are offering this option again. It gives everyone a relaxed, easy way to spend more time with the speakers and club members in an informal environment. We are hosting this dinner at UK's E.S. Good Barn, located just around the corner from KET, facing the front of Commonwealth Stadium.

Our speaker this year is Allistair Wilson from Sport Flight International and Astra Trikes. This animated speaker will describe the adventure of his trike odysssey from Florida to the Arctic, complete with a slideshow of the highlights. You will find Allistair as entertaining as he is informative.

Tickets remain at $15 this year for the same super-sized buffet we had in 2004. You'll have a choice of three meats, five salads, and several desserts. You will pay for your dinner ticket Saturday morning at the seminar, but you must RSVP to reserve a ticket. We have to commit to the caterer the number of seats three days prior, so no additional tickets will be available without a reservation.

It should be a really good time for everyone! To reserve one or more tickets, email to RSVP@BluegrassUltralightGroup.org (preferred) or call Paul Huber at 859-253-2611. Please be sure to include your name and the number of tickets you need, as well as your email address and/or phone number.

Prizes From Our Sponsors
Every year, we have sent every single attendee home with a prize or gift of some sort. It is the generosity of these companies that allows us to attract more pilots and wannabe's each year. Pilots may think they are coming for the free goodies, but the real prize they win is learning to fly, build and maintain their dreams safely.

These select organizations have made substantial contributions to ensure the success of this and previous safety seminars. Without the patronage of community-minded companies like these, our sport would surely suffer. These generous raffle prizes are ultimately what make our seminar financially possible.

When you deal with these vendors and organizations, please be sure to thank them for allowing pilots to become safer at seminars like ours. We could not provide this service without them.

Please join us in thanking these companies for donating their products to the raffle. You can will items from these great supporters of your safety seminar.

Live Internet Video

Can't make it this year? We've got you covered! You'll be able to watch and listen to Saturday's seminars on your computer as they happen, and ask the speakers in near-realtime via email. So no matter if you live in New Zealand, Italy or southern California, you can still enhance your flying safety. Check back on this page the day of the seminar for the link to watch the seminar in Real Video.

Having said that, the sessions we can broadcast on-line account for less than half of the weekend's activities. If you can come in person, don't even think about the on-line video...just come on down and get in on the networking, the sessions that are not broadcast online, the dinners, the BFI seminar, the Engine/Maintenance Seminar, all of the prizes available (online participants will have opportunities to win only a few of the door prizes, not all), the vendor displays and static displays, and the parking lot open-trunk swap meet, not to mention the late night "mini-seminars" in the hotel lounge.

If you plan on watching online, please TEST YOUR BROWSER now to make sure you be able to tune in on Saturday. You may need to download software from RealVideo to watch. Please do this now, as you don't want to miss the first speaker while you try to get the software installed.

On the day of the seminar, come back to this page and there will be a link to the live video. NOTE: You will get an error or a blank screen any time we are not broadcasting, such as during lunch or between sessions. We will be on and off air before the seminar, and expect to be down again during part of lunch. So if you get an error, just try back in a few minutes.
