This seminar will enhance the safety of every ultralight pilot in and around Kentucky. Newcomers will discover the smart way to enter a whole new world. Ultralight pilots will expand their safety skills. General Aviation pilots will learn more about a facet of aviation that may be new to them. This seminar is one of many ways Kentucky aviators are working together to produce safe, responsible ultralight pilots.

*** SPECIAL SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET ***
Building on the great feedback we've gotten from the past dinners, we are offering this option again. It gives everyone a relaxed, easy way to spend more time with the speakers and club members in an informal environment. We are hosting this dinner at UK's E.S. Good Barn, located just around the corner from KET, facing the front of Commonwealth Stadium. Our host this year is be EAA Ultralight Hall of Famer Chuck Slusarczyk. Mr. Slusarczyk is the designer of the well known CGS Hawk, and runs the company to this day. The CGS Hawk was the first ultralight to have landing gear. This is only one of the "first" that Mr. Slusarczk is responsible for in our great sport. To top it off he is a very entertaining speaker. This will be a night you will not forget! Tickets remain at $15 this year for a super-sized buffet. You'll have a choice of three meats, five salads, and several desserts. You will pay for your dinner ticket Saturday morning at the seminar, but you must RSVP to reserve a ticket. We have to commit to the caterer the number of seats three days prior, so no tickets will be available without a reservation. It should be a really good time for everyone! To reserve one or more tickets, email to RSVP@BluegrassUltralightGroup.org (preferred) or call David Hempy at 859-258-7164 (leaving a voicemail is fine). Please be sure to spell your name and state the number of tickets you need, as well as your email address and/or phone number.

Prizes From Our Sponsors Every year, we send everyone home with a prize or gift of some sort. It is the generosity of these sponsoring companies that allows us to attract more pilots and wannabe's each year. Pilots may think they are coming for the free goodies, but the real prize they win is learning to fly, build and maintain their dreams safely. These select organizations have made substantial contributions to ensure the success of this and previous safety seminars. Without the patronage of community-minded companies like these, our sport would surely suffer. These generous raffle prizes are ultimately what make our seminar financially possible. When you deal with these vendors and organizations, please be sure to thank them for allowing pilots to become safer at seminars like ours. We could not provide this service without them.

I'm afraid we won't be able to stream the live Internet video of the BUG Safety Seminar this year. The resources (both human and physical) to make this happen are currently overextended capturing, transcoding and serving all the KY General Assembly meetings and generating video and audio podcasts for a half-dozen new television series.
We have been very fortunate to have been able to offer this service in past years. We hope to be able to do it again next year. To give feedback on the value of live video from the seminar, please email RSVP@BluegrassUltralightGroup.org.
With apologies to those that cannot attend in person, I look forward to seeing the rest of you in Lexington January 28. We've got a great seminar lined up with great speakers, lots of raffle prizes, several vendors, plenty of good people and some good food to boot! Don't miss it!
